The problem

This flat roof in Battersea had an old fibreglass covering finished with tiles, and the perimeter flashings were also due for replacement. Rather than patching individual problems, the roof needed stripping back and rebuilding with a new waterproofing system and new flashings all the way round.

The goal

Replace the old roof covering and flashings with a durable new flat roof, finished with a surface that can be walked on.

How we did it

1

Removal of existing tiles

The existing tiles were taken up from the roof.

2

Strip-out of the fibreglass covering

The old fibreglass roof covering and the perimeter flashings were removed, and all waste was disposed of.

3

New triple-layer felt roof

A high-performance triple-layer torch-on felt roof system was applied across the roof.

4

Code 4 lead flashings

New Code 4 lead flashings were installed around the perimeter of the roof.

5

Rubber promenade tiles

Rubber promenade tiles were installed over the new roof to protect the membrane from foot traffic.
